他 101 - Introduction to Health Information Management (4 credits)
Prerequisites: 他100, HLSC 108 OR BIOL 109 OR BIOL 110 和 BIOL 210, 和 ENGL 101 (All prerequisite courses must have a grade of C or better) & Formal admission into the Health Information Management Program. 这 course is an introduction to the health information management profession addressing its history 和 结构 of the national, state 和 regional associations along with professional ethical principles. The course explores the history of healthcare delivery systems 和 external factors that influence, impact 和 change the healthcare industry to include key accrediting bodies, 和 state 和 federal regulatory agencies. Different types of data are defined 和 how the data affects the data 和 information governance for the key stakeholders. Introduction to health record content, 结构, 和 origin of clinical information for various healthcare settings 和 providers are addressed 和 how compliance requirements are identified throughout the health information life cycle.
